Ironically enough, Clary Sage was an essential oil that I did not take a likening to at first.
I had purchased it on the recommendation to include it in my aromatherapy kit for the work that I share with clients.
I was very familiar with Sage, which I really enjoyed. So, I guess I was under the impression that Clary Sage was going to smell similar.
I experimented with it however, by blending it with other essential oils.
I went through a period in my life about a year ago, where I felt very uninspired and dissatisfied with where my life was. I began to put myself down for perhaps not having made the right choices. This in turn, caused me to feel depressed and despairing.
One evening, I just so happen to pick up one of my aromatherapy books and for some reason, turned to the section which described the benefits to using Clary Sage.
It talked about it’s many physical benefits, but also spoke about it’s emotional benefits as well. It was said to be a very powerful aid to easing depression, melancholia, anxiety, stress, and general dissatisfaction. It encourages confidence, grounding, and balance.
Since then, after using it on myself quite often (and achieving GREAT results) I’ve actually grown to enjoy it’s aroma!
*Find about 20 minutes of undisturbed quite-time.
*Place a single drop of Clary Sage into the palm of one hand, and then rub both palms together.
*Cup your hands and bring them about 2 inches from your nose (as if you are going to shout) – take 5 deep breaths.
*Place both hands on your lap or knees (palms up).
*Allow yourself to relax and totally let go for 20 minutes.
*When ready, take another 5 deep breaths, open your eyes…and feel renewed!
*Use only pure essential oils.
*External use only.
*Avoid during pregnancy.
*Do not use when drinking alcohol.
*Excessive use may cause drowsiness.
I guess this just goes to show me, that what may start out as something I dislike…may someday turn into something I end up TOTALLY appreciating!
I happily encourage you to investigate the many valuable benefits to essential oils through Aromatherapy. When used with care and respect, they will give your life abundant, loving support…Body, Mind & Spirit.
